"I think CRE really knows what nonprofits need. We've used CRE for Board development, for financial development, and after we spun off, also legal referral - and consistently, through different services & needs, it's been the case that they've been right on target & very helpful. "

Louisa Hackett is a Senior Partner at Community Resource Exchange (CRE).  Louisa, who joined CRE in 1994, has more than 20 years of consulting experience with New York City nonprofit organizations. Her areas of expertise are strategic planning, financial management, and board development.

Before joining CRE, Louisa managed an independent consulting practice dedicated to helping nonprofit clients address financial challenges. Early in her career, she served as a community development specialist at Community Service Society and was an accounting manager at both Safe Horizon (formerly known as Victim Services, Inc.) and the Museum of the Moving Image.

In 2013, Louisa founded Community Votes, a New York City-based initiative that leverages the connections nonprofits have in local communities to engage voters and, ultimately, strengthen those communities through active participation in the electoral process. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Essex County Family Justice Center.

In her spare time, Louisa enjoys bike riding. For several years, she has participated in RAGRABI, an annual event that crosses Iowa. In 2013, Louisa was one of approximately 10,000 people who traversed Iowa in the largest group bike ride in the United States.

Louisa holds an M.P.A. in Public Administration from New York University and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
