Louisa has more than 20 years’ consulting experience with New York City nonprofit organizations. Her expertise is in strategic planning, financial management, and board development. Before joining CRE in 1994, she managed an independent consulting practice dedicated to helping nonprofit clients address financial challenges. Early in her career, she was a community development specialist at Community Service Society and an accounting manager at both Safe Horizon (formerly known as Victim Services, Inc.) and the Museum of the Moving Image. In 2013, Louisa founded Community Votes, a New York City-based initiative that leverages the connections nonprofits have in local communities to engage voters and, ultimately, strengthen those communities through active participation in the electoral process. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Essex County Family Justice Center. Louisa holds an M.P.A. in Public Administration from New York University and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
