CRE's Measuring Impact Study is based on two models developed by CRE and researcher Barbara Blumenthal to articulate CRE's Theory of Change, and toidentify the factors that influence success.

• Consulting Impact Model - articulates the factors in a CRE consulting relationship that will influence the degree of short versus long term impact on the client organization.
• Nonprofit Performance Model - identifies the elements of organizational context, capacities and culture that influence performance.

CRE's Framework for Evaluation outlines the factors that influence capacity-building work with clients, and the moment in time in CRE's relationship with the client at which they are assessed in CRE's Measuring Impact Study.
