Our nonprofit clients are a distinguishing feature of Community Resource Exchange. They represent the diversity of the nonprofit sector in the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester county and New Jersey. What makes them similar is that they are community-based organizations, rooted in neighborhoods and providing services that they know are needed derived from their base in these communities. Like CRE, they have a social justice point of view.
They range from organizations with budgets under $100,000 to over $25 million. They are start-ups and organizations with more than 100 years of service to their communities.
Many of these nonprofits provide direct services to the community while others are focused on policy, advocacy, and community organizing; some work on all of these levels. CRE also works directly with charitable foundations.
Some work in single issue areas; many are multi-service organizations, providing services to a range of populations or a range of services to a single population. CRE’s clients work in an array of issue areas including:
