If you are the leader of a nonprofit community-based organization fighting poverty in New York City, and you would like to become a CRE client, please call or email our intake line: (212) 894-3395 or intake(at)crenyc.org. Please leave your name and contact information, as well as a brief description of your organization and the type of assistance you hope to receive from CRE. One of our senior consultants will follow up with a phone call to learn more about your organization's needs.
Each group's request for assistance is evaluated on:
- Alignment with CRE's mission;
- Alignment of issue(s) with CRE skill set;
- Availability of CRE staff during specified time frame;
- Availability of funding.
CRE's work is funded in three ways:
- Self-Pay, where client groups identify their own funding source to pay for CRE's services;
- Contracts, where client qualifies for CRE services supported by one of 25 foundation, corporate or government third party payers; and
- The CapaCITY Account, where a limited number of organizations that do not qualify for outside funding and whose work is closest to our mission receive management assistance on a pro bono basis. In the Fiscal Year 2007, CRE will focus a significant portion of its pro bono resources on organizations that are led by immigrants and/or are working with Black men and boys.
CRE cannot guarantee that we can engage in one-to-one consulting relationships with every group that contacts us; however, we strive to be helpful by answering questions and directing callers to available resources.
