About Community Resource Exchange

Community Resource Exchange (CRE) is a nonprofit social change consulting firm. Informed by deep experience and an intimate knowledge of New York City’s communities, CRE helps 300 organizations fight poverty and champion social justice issues each year. CRE works with both emerging organizations and well-established institutions in neighborhoods where resources and opportunities are limited. With CRE’s help, nonprofit leaders develop the tools they need to build their organizations and improve the neighborhoods in which they live.

Founded in 1979, CRE has empowered more than 3,000 community leaders to undertake and sustain work that assures higher-quality education, literacy, affordable housing, and immigrants’ rights. CRE is especially dedicated to fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS in low-income communities.
