Ero began providing technical support to CRE staff and clients in March 2006, after a varied background that includes work designing and building websites, building custom databases, editing nonprofit publications, composing and recording music, and a lifetime of tinkering with computers. From 2008-2009 he served as IT Manager at Safe Space NYC, Inc., a nonprofit serving children in Queens. He returned to CRE in December 2009.
