These may be matters such as a valuable Board member calling to say they are taking a new job in another city and will be resigning from the board, to a funder calling to say that they will move the consideration of your grant to an earlier (or later) Board meeting, to learning that a building in which you rent space for some programs has been sold and the new landlord wants you out as soon as possible. We at CRE think the non-profit sector is, even in its resource-depleted state, still a powerful force for change and for good. Many vital social services in our society would not be, and could not be, delivered as economically as they are by non-profits. The sector overwhelmingly does a good job of serving needs efficiently. The Power of the Resource Exchange: The Best Nonprofits Freely Share Their Expertise
by Holly Delany Cole - When Community Resource Exchange was established 30 years ago, its initial aim was to create a ‘space’ where nonprofits could assist one another directly, create support networks and share tools, templates and strategies for getting greater community outcomes. CRE eventually became an intermediary whose staff partners with nonprofits to identify and solve institutional concerns and provides them with information and other resources, but we’ve never lost sight of our fundamental interest in promoting productive direct exchanges between and among nonprofits.
